Pearls Dancers (Wednesdays 6:30-8pm, ages 11-13)
The Pearls Dance team is a performance-based team for preteen young men and . It was founded upon the principles of:
P- Positive self-image
E- Educational excellence
A- Artistic Expression
R- Resiliency
L- Leadership Skills
S- Social/Cultural Competence
Members of this team must be willing to learn various types of international dance, display good conduct in school and dance, be a positive team player, and take their education/learning seriously. Failure to do so can result in suspension from the team or a possible expulsion.
Auditions
Auditions for this team are usually held the first or second week of August. Dancers are asked to wear a black tank, leotard, or sports bra and black leggings so we can clearly see their lines. They are chosen based on:
-Technique
-Execution of Cross-the-floor/Center combinations
-Level of flexibility
-Attitude/Conduct
Costumes, Team Apparel, and Performances
Dancers will be participating in different festivals, parades, competitions and performances. Parents or guardians are expected to take care of any fees related to costumes, entry fees, travel costs, and/ or team apparel for these events.
